Harpsichord v. Fortepiano

The Bach Society welcomes fortepianist Christoph Hammer, who came to UNT from Germany last year, in a program featuring the Concerto for Fortepiano and Harpsichord by CPE Bach. The two great keyboard instruments coexisted for a brief period at the end of the eighteenth century, and this work represents the only time they shared the limelight in the concerto form. Artistic Director James Richman plays the harpsichord, and Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto #5 and Mozart’s Piano Concerto in A K.414 complete the program.
